The owners of Alberta Skydivers LTD. have been introducing first time jumpers to the sport of skydiving for 20 years. We work closely with the Canadian Sport Parachute Association (CSPA), to ensure we are providing the best possible instruction available. All of our instructors have earned CSPA "Instructor" ratings for the program they are teaching, plus a Coach One or Two rating from the Coaching Association of Canada. Expect the BEST, when you choose to make your First Skydive with Alberta Skydivers Ltd!

Please note: You must be 18 years of age or older (regardless of parental consent) and under 230 lbs for the First Jump Tandem and Solo course.

Tandem Skydive over Vancouver

Your Tandem Skydive starts with 1/2 hour of ground preparation. The instructor wears special equipment built to take 2 people skydiving, and you wear a harness that attaches to the instructor's equipment at 4 points: (2 shoulder connectors & 2 hip connectors). You are very secure! The airplane ride to 9,500 ft is approx. 20 minutes, then you freefall out of the plane for an amazing 30 seconds before the instructor opens the main parachute. To finish your skydive experience, you help fly the parachute back to the landing area. The Tandem skydive requires a time commitment of 3-4 hours on weekends.  You can make your tandem skydive 2 or 3 tandems per flight depending on instructor availability.

Solo Skydive over Vancouver

This type of First Jump is designed for the person who wants to "take charge" of their skydive. The First Jump Solo course starts with a 5 hour ground school. After the on-ground practice, you will get "geared-up" in our state-of-the-art student equipment and you and your instructor will fly to 3,000 ft. You will climb out of the plane and hang off the strut, watching the instructor for the "Go!". As you let go of the airplane, the instructor initiates your main parachute opening (this is called "Instructor Assisted Deployment" - IAD). It takes about 3 seconds for your parachute to open - talk about adrenaline rush! After opening, the on-ground instructor will talk to you via a one-way radio, giving instruction to help you fly and land your parachute! The Solo course requires a 09:00am - 5:00 pm time commitment. Please note: The Solo course requires decision making in a high stress situation.
